History
Common House No. 2 opened in 2020 and is nestled in the heart of the Richmond Arts and Culture District, spanning from the Institute for Contemporary Art on Broad to the Virginia State Capitol. The historic building originally housed a furniture factory.
Historic Jackson Ward and Monroe Ward connect through the reach of this district – rekindling the stories of Richmond Legends such as Maggie L. Walker, Lewis Ginter, and Bill “Bojangles'' Robinson. The Arts District shines brightly during its monthly First Fridays art walk wherein galleries extend their hours, live music echoes through windows and streets, and sidewalks are filled with performers and deals from local shops.
