Venue Tours

Venue tours are an incredible sales tool used by all Director of Events to turn event leads into booked/definite events. Specifics for tours will be influenced by individual house layouts, designs, cities, etc. and should always feel natural to how you typically communicate with others. The below are general guidelines for giving a Common House venue tour.

CHECKLIST

  • Open up shutters or blinds

  • All lights on (even turn bar lights on, if applicable)

  • Clear off tables and make sure things look organized and presentable

  • Notify concierge on tour time, names, and how they should reach you

  • Have documents printed (BEO, Private Events Seasonal Menu, Bar)

  • Grab iPad to showcase past event or rendering photos

GUEST ARRIVAL

  • Greet at Concierge desk

  • Give an overview of Common House if they are unfamiliar; “Common House is a member-based social club. An inclusive space designed to bring people together through vibrant shared experiences. It's more than just a membership, the House is a place to play, dine, work, and discover — an opportunity to form new connections and create a new kind of community.”

  • Head into event space and try to land in a place where they can see the full room

  • Adapt what you talk about to their specific details (cocktail-style? seated dinner? how many guests?)

  • Give ideas on how the room can be set up based on those details while also letting them know that this room is truly a blank canvas for their floor plan ideas

  • Share what is included in the space // furniture, bar, plates, glassware, etc.

SELLING POINTS

Event Door: guests can come straight into the event space; we will put a sign out front to guide guests

Music: The House runs on Sonos and we can pump a Spotify playlist they create through our speakers, all they have to do is email us the playlist

Other Tech/AV: have Smart TV, Fender system (speakers and microphone), projector and screen that can be of use but they are on a first-come-first-served basis

Outside Rentals: outside rentals such as tableware, florals, tables, chairs, etc. can be brought in so long as they communicate clearly with us what is coming in and coordinate drop off/pick up with us as to not interfere with other events

Always offer to give a tour of the full House as it’s a great way to cross-sell a membership.

END OF THE TOUR

  • Offer the guests to stay and hang out, keep walking around, eat, etc. if they wish

  • Let them know you will follow up with an email the next day

  • THANK THEM for coming out to tour our venue!
